    §01The product
    What is Arqo?+
Screenwriting software. Specifically and only. It runs the same editor on phone, tablet, and desktop. It writes Fountain natively and round-trips with Final Draft 12 without format drift. Iv is a memory layer — it holds your characters, locations, and continuity. It does not write your dialogue.
Is Arqo a Final Draft replacement?+
For most workflows, yes. We import and export FDX cleanly, support locked scene numbers, A-page numbering, dual dialogue, and revision marks. Producers and assistants opening your FDX in Final Draft 12 won't see format drift. We don't yet ship every Final Draft niche feature; if you're a heavy SmartType / Tags user, check the comparison page.
    Does Arqo work offline?+
Yes. The editor is local-first. Your work syncs when you reconnect.
What devices does it run on?+
iOS (15+), iPadOS, macOS (12+), Windows (10+), Android (12+), web. The mobile editor is the editor — not a stripped-down companion view.
Can I import my scripts from elsewhere?+
Yes. FDX (Final Draft), Fountain, and plain text. We have migration guides for Final Draft, WriterDuet, Highland 2, and Google Docs / Word.
    Can I export to PDF?+
Yes. Production format — cover sheet, scene numbers, optional watermark. Free tier exports too.
    Is there a desktop app?+
Yes. Real desktop apps for Mac and Windows. There’s also a web version that works in any browser, on any device.
    §02Iv
    Does Arqo write my script?+
No. Iv is a memory layer — characters, locations, continuity. It will not autocomplete your dialogue, generate scenes, draft coverage, or imitate your voice. We refuse, in writing, on the manifesto page.
What does Iv actually do, then?+
It remembers. Things like: “where did I last mention the locket?” → page 31, scene 17. “How does Mira speak in act two?” → here are the lines. “What's the through-line on the B-plot?” → these are the beats touching it.
Will my scripts be used for model training?+
No. Not now, not if we raise, not if competitive pressure mounts. Vow #2 of the manifesto. Signed and dated.
    Can I bring my own Claude/GPT/Gemini account?+
Yes. It’s a +$2/mo add-on on Pro, or included on Studio. Plug in your own Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google account and Iv runs through that. You pay them, not us.
Can I turn Iv off entirely?+
Yes. The memory layer is opt-in per surface, per script. You can disable it at the script level or globally.
    §03Pricing
    How much does Arqo cost?+
Free for two scripts, full editor, full export, no assistant. Pro is $9 / month or $90 / year. Studio is $24 / month or $200 / year. BYOK is a +$2/mo add-on on Pro, included with Studio. Arqo Max (writers’ rooms) ships Q4 2026 — waitlist.
    What's the difference between tiers?+
    • Free — 2 scripts, full editor, full export, real-time collab. No assistant.
    • Pro ($9 / mo · $90 / yr) — unlimited scripts, Story Memory + voice-tuned suggestions, Beat Board, Character Bible, cloud sync. BYOK +$2/mo.
    • Studio ($24 / mo · $200 / yr) — everything in Pro + BYOK included + cross-project Library + Vault + locked scene numbers + cryptographic export receipts + priority Arqo Max.
    • Arqo Max — writers’ rooms: shared workspace, shared Memory, role-based permissions, SSO. Coming Q4 2026 — join the waitlist.
Is there a free trial of paid features?+
Yes — 14-day free trial on Pro and Studio. Card required at sign-up; cancel any time before day 15 and you’re not charged.
    Is there an annual discount?+
Yes — about two months free if you pay yearly ($90/yr Pro vs $108 at the monthly rate; $200/yr Studio vs $288).
    Will pricing change?+
We change pricing in the open, with notice. The price you signed up at is the price you stay at unless we ship a new tier and you choose to move to it.
    §04Privacy & ownership
    Who owns my work?+
You do. Arqo never claims rights to your scripts. Read the terms — it's two paragraphs and a list.
    Where is my data stored?+
On secure servers in Virginia (US East). EU storage available on request for Studio and Team.
    Is Arqo SOC 2 compliant?+
Type 1 in progress, target 2026-Q3. Type 2 to follow.
    Can I export and leave?+
Always. FDX, Fountain, plain text, PDF. Take it with you. We will not lock you in.
    Does Arqo sell my data?+
No. We don't sell, license, or share user data. Period. See data policy.
